As you all can probably tell I enjoy comedy in numerous different ways.  Another one of my other addictions is Modern Family.  Now if you've never watched this show it airs on ABC Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. and I urge you all to watch.  Modern Family is pretty much just like the title.  A modern family consisting of one family that lives closely together and experiences everything together.  There is a normal aged family, a family with to gay parents, and a family consisting of an older man and a younger women.  Along with a hormonal pregnant women, an over protective mother, and an over sophisticated boy along with many others. They go through all of life's obstacles some families.  This episode revolves around a good old Yard Sale.

When I ran across an article about the Yard Sale episode on A.V. Club I wanted to see other opinions on the episode written by Donna Bowman.  My favorite part of Modern Family would have to be all the quotes.  Not only modern day slang but also retro vocabulary. For instance we all remember the zip off pants?  Well at one point a main character Phil yells out, "Why didn't I wear my shaaaaaaaants?!" Another great reflection of American Culture is when Jay (the father) tries to explain what a yard sale is, you Invite people onto your driveway, he says, and pretty soon, “It’s just a local call. Can I use the bathroom. My mother needs to lie down.”  Throughout the episode there are many great moments like the ones I just stated.

Modern Family is a great family TV show that will keep you laughing for days afterwards.  Even if this episode only got a B+ I feel as if it deserves an A+.

  1. Seems like a great show to watch! This really seems to show all the different dynamics that make up families today. People can watch this show and get a good laugh out of it, but also view just how modern families are dealing with the way the world works.

  2. I'm thinking Ill have to start watching this! It sounds really entertaining and humorous. I often tend to disagree with movie and TV show ratings and find them to be a little harsh, I definitely agree with you on a higher rating than what was given!
